Celebrate Homecoming in Glasgow: Scotland with style

Lonely Planet has named Glasgow as one of the top ten cities to visit in 2009 and it’s not hard to understand why.

Glasgow is an exciting destination combining the energy and sophistication of a great international city with some of Scotland’s most spectacular scenery.

It is an architectural dream; Victorian red & honey sandstone, Italianate steeples and medieval spires sit harmoniously with neo-gothic towers, the sensuous Art Nouveau of Charles Rennie Mackintosh and the titanium, glass and steel of the contemporary city.

Glasgow has an amazing portfolio of internationally acclaimed museums and galleries - including the magnificent Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum, unique Burrell Collection and stunning Mackintosh House - all of which serve to reinforce its credentials as Glasgow: Scotland with style.

The city’s unique style is also stamped on its year-round events programme, which offers live performances, festivals and entertainment fifty-two weeks of the year and the recent designation as a UNESCO City of Music, has firmly set the seal on Glasgow’s reputation as one of Europe’s premier cultural capitals.

Among the highlight events this year are those planned for the Homecoming Scotland 2009 celebrations.
