The World Pipe Band Championships take place on Saturday 15 August and will see more than 8,000 pipers and drummers from across the globe compete in front of 40,000 spectators for the coveted title of World Champions 2009.  While Piping Live! is a week long celebration of the diversity of piping music and a highlight is the After Worlds Shindig, a spectacular party with fantastic piping performances and a traditional ceilidh. 

The Hilton, Glasgow is Glasgow's largest five star hotelThe Hilton Glasgow is the city’s largest five-star hotel and boasts leisure facilities, two restaurants and hotel bar.  Located in the city centre it’s an ideal base for exploring all that Glasgow has to offer. 


Auchentoshan Distillery is located at the foot of the picturesque Kilpatrick Hills on the outskirts of Glasgow and is one of only a handful of remaining lowland malt distilleries in Scotland.  Once you’ve enjoyed your VIP tour, test your new found knowledge of whisky and sample a dram in one of the Whisky Bars of Glasgow.

Terms and Conditions for the Homecoming Scotland 2009 / Glasgow Piping Promotion

1. This promotion is open to anyone aged 18 or over. Entry excludes employees and their immediate families of HomecomingScotland, EventScotland, Glasgow City Marketing Bureau, VisitScotland/visitscotland.com, their agencies and anyone else professionally connected with the promotion.
2. Only one entry per household will be accepted for the prize draw.
3. Closing date for receipt of entries for the prize draw is 20/07/2009
4. The winner will be notified by email within one week of the close of the prize draw.
5. The winner will be the first entry drawn by EventScotland under independent supervision.
6. Eventscotland's decision is final and no dispute will be entered into.
7. The prize includes:
Accommodation at the 5-star Hilton Glasgow. This is for 2 people sharing a twin or double room for 2 nights, Friday 14th & Saturday 15th August 2009, with breakfast on both days.
A VIP tour of the Auchentoshan Distillery. The VIP tour of Auchentoshan Distillery must be taken on Friday 14 August and is strictly for persons over 18 years old.  
Entry for the prize winner and guest to The After Worlds Shindig. The After Worlds Shindig is for persons over 18 years old.

9. All elements of the prize are subject to availability.
10. No cash alternative or other prize is available.
11. The prize is non-transferable
12. No purchase is necessary to enter the prize draw.
13. Entry into the prize draw requires the consumer to provide their name and email address.
14. This competition is governed by UK competition law and no cash alternative will be offered. By entering the promotion the winners and guests will be deemed to have accepted and be bound by the terms and conditions and by any other requirement set out in the promotional material.
